Reproduction of the D Water Pump Cover also know as the Propeller Shaft Bearing Carrier.  We found that when using the original bearing carrier under a D or E Mod engine the factory carriers would shear off at the forward cover plate.  To solve this problem we increased the radius of the fillet between the cone and the plate which seems to have eliminated the problem. We make these out of T-6    marine grade 6061 Aluminium, even drilling the hole for the locator pin in the plate. The picture shown is with our D Cone Nut and both original Mercury Carrier and Cone Nut in gold anodized finish. We do not anodize our products.
