Nice B-1 class engine, closed exhaust.  Johnson 25 HP powerhead and clean Mercury Quicksilver H tower with an early multi inlet short gear case.  We know a little about this engine, it was part of a large purchase we made a couple of years ago.  Just found out in Jan 2018 that this engine was built in 1974 and raced in 1975 by Steve Brairton, the builder.  In the first race in 25SS it took a second place on an old boat.  The engine has 16:21 gears, the block was milled to the minimum specifications and has 35HP reed cage. The ignition is from 1975. We were going to keep this engine for ourselves but just do not have the time to play with it.  I would imagine it has a coupler on the driveshaft to adapt the different splines. The engine has deep clamp brackets with good thumb screws.  It turns over and appears complete, would make a quick lake racer on a B class runabout or hydro.  We can build a wood crate to ship this engine for $150 plus freight cost or it can be picked up in Lake Charles, LA.  This is a legal APBA racing engine.
